Steve, Giles,
I wouldn't say I was faster then Julius. I prefer to think of it like I was the "point" and just got ambushed first. Oh, what the hey ... yes, an S is faster then an M. At least some S's are.

Julius,
I've been doing some research and I think I may go the lawyer route. Interested? I found someone in Boston that reputedly specializes in this but he is mighty expense ($1,000 - 1,500). I'm thinking my S insurance rates are going to go through the roof for 3 years if I don't do something and if he can save me points he will pay for himself.

The officer did mention he would be coming to court if I plead not guilty. He was a young guy and probably needs the court experience.

I'm with you on the lawyer route. Maybe Bill knows of someone he can recommend.

If you are facing a surcharge of more than a couple of points, the laywer certainly would be a good idea.

As far as insurance costs, once you are no longer at step 9, I think you either lose safe driver credits and /or pay an additional 7% for each point over 15 for several categories. Bodily injury, collision, property damage, etc. Not to mention the fact that the surcharge is on your record for quite some time. There may be a few guys here who can fill you in better than I.

Your insurance agent can probably tell you exactly what kind of costs you can expect, depending on how many points you are charged.

This may answer a question or two also.

Some point you are! The rest of the squad got mowed down.

There needs to be one more piece of electronics made. A Police Radio detector. It would just detect the presence (and strength) of police radio signal.....perfect in situations of Laser traps and pace cars.

I want one...
