2 min fix.... lolI put dynamat xtreme around the speakers themselves but a lot of bass
everything vibrates and it drives me NUTS!
You should mat the whole door. But to find out whats actually rattling you should take the door panel off and turn on your stereo. Then you'll be able to see and hear what's making the sound. If it doesn't rattle with the door panel off the you know you should look at the panel as well.
So.....
This sub setup sounded great! Glenn and I were both surprized how good it sounded, even with no real tuning... although we both agree that proper tuning will be needed to get the sound perfect, but this setup will rival most 8" subs and perhaps some 10's in a trunk. You get really nice low end sound from it. You do not get that hard punch like from a 10 however.
This sub only requires 150w rms power so you can get a small 4 channel amp to power the doors and bridge the rear channel to power the sub.
So the conclusion and what this sub will offer you:
1. This set up is for the person that wants that low end sound.
2. For the person that doesn't want to take up any space in the trunk with a larger box.
3. For the person that wants a sub in the cabin without cutting the metal of the car.
4. For a clean, totally stealth and still OEM looking setup.
5. For someone that does some track days or autocross time and needs the sub to be permanent like the door speakers so they do not need to be removed.
6. For a sub setup that keeps the added weight in the center of the car, there by not throwing off the cars normal balance.
or
7. For someone that just wants something totally cool
The cons on this, because we all know it has them:
1. Its only a 6.5" sub...
2. You will not get the hard thump with this setup.
3. You lose the secret compartment.
4. This takes time to install, unlike the drop in boxes that can be installed in minutes.
That's all she wrote.

Any ideas what I can do to stop the rattling from my 6 1/2s in the doors?
