I'm all for helping someone IF you have the means. But this country is still in the throes of a terrible recession. Too many people are out of work here to be tossing too much money somewhere else. They wouldn't send shit to us and I am still waiting for my check since I won the Haitian national lottery. They told me so in an email!!!

Despite everything...I think we still have the means. My idea of America is that we can tighten our belts and get it done.

Come on Jeff, I really don't think you only help people capable of returning the favor. I'm sure the people you help every day never do a thing for ya.

Come to think of it.....where is my lottery money?

Haiti is a mess right now.
The best news they have is it doesn't get real cold there and it isn't hurricane season.
Air drop tents in. trailers would take forever to get moved in.

Genius I say genius, after watching CNN most of the night the scene in Haiti whether you like em or not is not pretty. Its quite the tragedy actually.

If we still have the means, let's straighten our own house out. Then we can go back to being the savior of the world.

Many people help with the hope that they may be helped one day if they needed it. Its a big hope and no guarantee. Unfortunately, many of those the US helps will never return the favor.
