Default Ideas on Replacement for Explorer

Looking for constructive ideas on what to get to replace our 1997 Explorer Eddie Bauer.

This is Bean's vehicle but it's primary function is as our Tailgating vehicle at Patriots games. So this has to have:
* a LOT of space in the back to hold all our party equipment
* hold 5 adults comfortably along with all the tailgate goodies
* be no taller or longer in length then a Explorer so it fits in the garage
* able to go overland easily given we tailgate in the woods
* be easy on the butt for long trips
* get 18+ mpg

Ideas?

(pls. Bill - no flaming)

Get an Acura MDX or a Lexus RX 450h. If it isn't big enough for all the food you bring, bring less or get a trailer. I think you'll find the vehicles drive excellent.

Honda Pilot?? but I think its rear cargo space may be lacking even with the third row folded down. but it does get 22mpg on the highway
