Default Im back in a Honda!

Got my wife an 06 Honda Civic Hybrid tonight.
We were very impressed by it. With my wife expecting our first child in Jan and her VW going away we decided to look around.
Drove the Civic Hybrid tonight and we were blown away. Not the fastest thing but very comfortable, all the right bells and whistles and best of all it was available! Prius has a 6 month wait around here.
We wont pick it up for a week or so but we signed the papers and put a deposit on it tonight.
Round here they go for sticker.

Not only that we can switch the display on the dash between coolant temp and fuel consumption meter. Wish they could have done that with oil temp and oil pressure in the S2000.

If you buy it before 12/31/05, you won't get the tax credits. Only tax deductions.

If you care about things like that.

Yeah thats what I hear.
But we need a vehicle before then. The VW Touareg is going back to VW and my wife will be 8 months pregnant by that time. Just didnt fit our time frame. Oh well...

Nice let us know if all this Hybrid hype is really worth looking into regarding MPG.

I find a cheaper way to save my gas money. Scott did a tune up job for my passat. My highway MPG jump from 26 to almost 30. Nice!

Ted,

Good choice on the civic though. I just might consider buying one if my VW ever die on me.

Touch wood, touch wood.

Thomas, you're supposed to "knock on wood," not just touch it.

No wonder, the "touch wood" method never got me out of trouble.

OK, from now on...."knock on wood"!

Im excited to see what it does.
The new car (06) is better than the old Civic Hybrid.
It has some cool technology built into it.
Twin spark plugs in each cyl. its only and 8 valve motor ?!
When the electric motor is powering the car the valves of the exhaust and the intake are held open to reduce friction.
Car also uses the brakes to regenerate power for the batteries.
All cool stuff.
The old car was getting 45MPG solid overall.
Rumor is that the 50MPG City and 60MPG Highway that Honda claims will be a reality in 75% of all driving situations.
The possiblity of 1000 miles between fill-ups might be a reality!
But the real reason to buy the car is for the AT-PZEV rating.
