Yeah, it's good to be back. I was getting very busy for a while. I just started school full-time at Salem State College and I am still working full-time at Bay State. It's hard to find time to post anymore!

I am pretty sure Neuspeed dropped Borla as manufacturer for their exhaust (after v. 1 and v.2) due to poor quality control. The borla mades were not fully stainless steel and had fitment problem (for some). The v.1 also has melting skirt problem due to exhaust tip movement under hard cornering. Neuspeed dropped them a year ago and hired another manufacturer to fabricate full stainless exhaust (v.3), hence the higher price.

The current borla exhaust is not stainless...if that matters to you.

Is it bad that it is not stainless? What is it? Will it rust?

General rule of thumb is 304 steel (I assume that's what they use) does not last as long as stainless, but that really depends on the quality of finish. And yes, it is more prone to rust but again, depends on the finish. I believe steel is heavier too.

Btw, I think their mufflers are stainless, but not the piping. You really should check w/ your supplier first.

But after the Neuspeed/ Borla episode, I am safe to say I won't be betting money on their products...although I have heard Mustang owners rave about them, which I am sure you have heard as well.

Another RI S2000 owner here! I have too say I know I just got my S but I love the stock sound. It already sounds like it has an exhaust, but that's my opinion.I know in a couple of months I'll be ready to start throwing the mods on.
