i'm not happy
ok, without mentioning names i need to vent....
i ordered a product from an S2000 parts provider recommended by members of this site. i've spent a few hundred dollars at this site previously. i most recently ordered a part just about five weeks ago now and:
- i still don't have the part
- i never heard peep from this company
finally i decided to email them and my email was handed off to somone else and never answered. so, three days later (yesterday) i email them again and finally get a response.
this response was neither apologetic, nor spell-checked. multiple spelling errors (is this really the professionalism, or lack thereof, they want to convey?). it didn't even state when i would get my product but stated "So far it has been very hard to tell what we will get and when, so anything I would say would simply be a guess (or a Hope)".
should this be tolerated?
ok, i'm done........

ok if i was to guess i would say that the vendor is Ricks??? (hope note but it seems some folks have had issues and honestly the "it's not his real job should not be an excuse nor the fact that these are custom parts - heck keep an inventory on hand)
i would cancle the order and find a differnt vendor
it's ok to name names

Yeah, i was going to order stuff from Rick's but I've heard so much bad stuff about them lately, I'm quite weary to do so...
Jim and I's company is also in the retail business, and we CANNOT charge our customers until we ship the products because it is against the law.

I agree it's against the law to charge before shipping BUT some of these smaller guys still do it so they are not "out of pocket" - kind of a shame
here's a quote from Rick's

One should always be suspicious when purchasing anything online.
Some online sellers (:cough:Rick's:cough: ) don't keep inventory on hand. They only work as a middleman. If you don't mind waiting, they work fine. You may pay extra but you don't have the headache of finding the vendor. If you want something right away, deal with someone that has on hand inventory.
Additionally you might want someone with a storefront (brick & mortar site). Anyone can sell on the internet, but that doesn't mean that they have the inventory. A web store (unless it's Amazon) could easily close down and disappear with your money.
Hell even Amazon is a middleman. I ordered a CD that was only available in the UK. They sold it to me, but it took 4-5 months for them to get it to me. I'm sure they had to go out and buy it because they didn't have it in stock.
Barnes & Noble sells used books. I found a used book I wanted from them. I also found the same book on abe.com. Abe lists the inventory of used book stores. I found out B&N lists the books available on abe.com. If you buy the book from B&N they purchase it from abe.com and mark it up 200%. If you know where to buy it you can get it a lot cheaper.
Good Luck.
