Default Impression of Boston during Cirque du Soliel

As a NY'er and a Yankee fan here are my impressions:

1. Your cabbies get the BIG :middlefinger: they're a bunch of idiots, they're rude, unhelpful pricks, they are truely some big a$$ DB's. NY cabbies are a little better maybe not by much but better none the less.

2. The Waiter we had was nice I'll give him the , so was the Resturant which was the Atlantic Fish Comp. or something to that affect.

3. The area we saw was nice I think it was called Backwater it seemed a little snooty though.

4. Your Highway I-90 has a little to be desired as I can't see why there are no on ramps where there are off ramps. Also why is the speed limit in the tunnel 45 MPH ?

5. I going to assume that this person was from Bean town, but during the show she had the most annoying cheer getting teeth pulled would have been better. The crowd in general was very warm to the performers which was kool to see Three curtain calls I normally see two.

These are just my opinions and does not change the fact that I love my beloved NYC, and the Yanks are KING.

Not that i live in Boston but damn 5 threads for one topic with the same banter WTF

Probably 50%+ of cabbies are rude in every city when i went to NEW York i had a cabbie tell us how he new Mafia and how he was gonna kill the b*t*h behind us for not letting him back up. the other cabbies looked like they belonged on AMW top 10 terrorists

Glad you had a great time at Cirque du Soliel!

My comments

1. NY Cabbies are really not that much better ... it's really luck of the draw. Not all cabbies are that bad.

2. Atlantic Seafood Company is better than Legal Seafood in my opinion Glad you had a positive experience there

3. I think you were in Back Bay... in fact Atlantic Seafood is in the Back Bay A little snooty? I guess it could be It's also one of the top tourist areas in the city. So blame all of the tourists!

4. I-90 in the city is difficult to figure out... I will agree with that. No on ramps when there are off ramps? Yup... you were near the Prudential/Copley area. Basically the city was there before the highway was... so they put the ramps where they could. I know it doesn't make sense... but Boston is an old city. As for the speedlimit in the tunnel... I guess you were unlucky and got pulled over Isn't the speed limit in the Lincoln Tunnel about the same? I do recommend doing the speed limit in the tunnels... at least the new tunnels... there are camera's in there... plus State Police occasionally.

5. I've been to Cique once before... a few years back. I thought it was incredible. Glad you had a great time minus the annoying laughing lady ... funny how you think she was a local

BTW... Yankee's still suck

Glenn,

Which Cirque show did you see? I LOVE the cirque and so far have managed to see two of their shows, "Mystere" and "La Nouba". So far I think La Nouba was my favorite; however I am hoping I can make it to Boston this weekend to see Varekai.

Ben - Are you watching this thread? Maybe I can deliver those side-markers back to you in person?

I honestly don't remember It could have been Mystere... I'm not sure

Hmm... I think it could have been about 4 or 5 years ago

BUT... Boy did it impress me! I had no idea a body could be put in so many positions!

And... no silly comments from the peanut gallery please

Those people in the Cirque can put all of us to shame!

Somedays I wonder what it would have been like to marry one of those cirque girls.

Seriously though, I agree with you - the physical shape some of those people are in (men & women) is just frightening. I had no idea that the human body could do some of what I have watched them do on stage.

I seen a few of the shows and I'd have to say go see it, I've never been dissappointed yet, However "O" does stand for overrated. I mean it wasn't bad but I had a few people say "OMG it was the best" so it was hyped up abit.

Alicia and I saw Varekai a few weeks back. it was my first but I was definitely impressed.

most of the males in the audience were dumfounded cause the main girl, in addition to being ridiculously athletic, flexible, talented etc (most of them are), had rather large endowments, which is far less typical. alicia enjoyed her as well.
