f i'll do it for $160.00 - it takes about 1/2 hour at most to drill a few holes and what's there to warranty ??!!
If the drill area starts to corrode, they need to warrenty that. My sister had the dealer add a spoiler on her Subaru, it started rusting, so they had to make repairs. Think that was beyond 1 year tho.

the only reason that would happen is if the dealer did not prime the areas where they drilled into the trunk - for the lip you are screwing into plastic (inside the wheel well) so no worries there

Glenn helped me install two rear spoilers and cubby and i did the one on the lude at most - it takes 20 minutes because the spots are pre-marked on the car

if you want to look for surface rust on the s2000s - look where the trunk bumpers (little rubber feet are) almost every one has surface rust where the rubber stops screw in

as a side note - how did you make out with the ecu mike?

That takes all the fun out of it. The front spoiler is all but plug and play. Drilling the rear holes and sealing them properly so that they don't corrode is very easy as well. Max and I did mine in his driveway once. I daily drive mine in the winter and after two years had no corrosion at all. Even if the dealer messes it up, it won't show signs of corrosion till well after your 12mo warranty.

Bring the parts to a meet and someone will help you out.

The car is at the dealer. They ordered the new ECU, I expect it to be ready tomorrow. Hopefully that will be the end of the problem... Only thing is I misplaced one of the keys somewhere so if and when I find it I will need them to take care of it.

You can use primer and touchup paint to cover the bare metal from the drilling. Max put a few gobs of clear silicone sealant on the areas where the bolts went through as well for extra protection. No way that water was getting near the holes, and if it did, the metal was not bare.

If you are doing this now, afterthe holes have been un treated for a while, I suggest sanding or filing the bare metal slightly to remove any surface rust before priming it. You do not want to seal in any rust as it will spread.
