Default Insurance Question...

So, say your wife drives into your garage and drags the whole side of the car, from the front of the rear door all the way back, against the door frame, rips off all the trim, and the bumper cover, scrapes the paint, pushes in the fender, and even scratches the alloy wheel...

Is that covered under your car insurance or your homeowner's insurance?

I suppose the only good thing about this is that she didn't hit the S2000.

That's why it's good to have the same agent for both.

but I'd guess auto unless you can convince them that the house hit you.

damage to the house would go under homeowners.

Ouch...

But to answer your question. Your auto policy should be covering damages. Your car was the cause of the damages, so your car insurance policy will be stuck with the bill.

Thanks for the sympathies. The house is actually fine, aside from paint scuffs and scrapes on some older wooden trimwork.

I'll call the auto insurance company.

Mostly it was just a frustrated reason to post a pic to share. She obviously feels pretty bad about it, and there's not much I can do to make that better.
