Default Intake for AP2

I'm thinking about installing an aftermarket air intake. I want tour with my car so I not planning a lot of mods but I've heard that the intake is the best bang for the buck...plus I really like the way they sound. I have a couple of questions:

1. What intake do you recommend?
2. How hard is it to install?
3. Will I have to unistall it when if I bring the car in for warranty service?
4. Where should I buy it?

other then sound intakes do very little for the S - maybe when it's real hot, it prevents heats soak

1) i've always liked the AEM CAI - the thing sound great a wide open throttle but there are others - Comtech - snorkel - knock off AEMs

2) Cubs and i installed them in less a few hours (with the aem there is a bit of cutting of some plastic) and you do need to jack up the car

3) only if you hydolock your car - they can't (shouldn't!!) deny a transmission warrenty claim if they see a CAI but you never know..

4) depends on which you you go for BUT if you're going new i know Scott can get them / install them for you as he did Lainey & Rick's (scott )

as a side note there is a former local guy who is selling a Comtech CAI for $250.00 shipped (not a bad price) and I trust him - also Thomas still has his spoon snokel that he's selling

Your not going to get really any HP gains from a cold air intake. Honda did a really good job designing the intake on the S. I had a Spoon snorkel so the intake would get cooler air in not get heat bog but it doesnt gain any HP.
Sorry

I'd rather spend the money on a subframe brace where I can feel the difference over an intake where I can only hear the difference. That's just me.

Thanks everyone.

If Honda's intake is so efficient, how did they make it so much quieter than the aftermarket systems?

i think it's just the design of the air box itself

heck you could get almost the same sound as a CAI if you simply take your airbox cover off and drive around

The air box that surrounds the air filter muffles any noise. If you notice any of the after market intakes that have exposed air filters are much louder. Just take the lid off the air box and you will hear what an aftermarket intake would sound like. You will also loose a few HP from heat soak.
