They told me to not restore this phone from a back up and to set it up as a new one and transfer my contacts and all manually. Apparently they said I had "bad software" and kept putting the bad software back on the replacement phones. 5 days and so far so good

Seems like a reasonable precaution to rule out certain causes... but I always hate it when the "experts" don't have anything better than a vague explanation as to what the problem is.

Might as well say "your data has bad mojo..."

Most people I know with iPhone 4s don't report issues. But I've also found that most people with Apple products don't like to admit there's something wrong with their magical item that they paid so much for.

How many people are waiting for iPhone 5?

I hate the software they have at the apple store, they take your phone plug it in and show you and the software says "your phone is healthy"

Droid user here. Will most likely switch to a Verizon iphone in a year or so when the next generation comes out.

Same on my AT&T iPhone 4. Recurring alarms went off an hour early, and I had to upgrade to iOS 4.3 to fix it.

makes one wonder if it wasn't deliberate by Apple to force folks into an upgrade.

IMO the iphone is the best non-phone out there. i.e. best functions, apps, etc. just not the actual phone part. However, it's becoming the standard.

That seems unlikely, as they rightfully look incompetent with recurring alarm issues.

They are great interface designers, but I'm skeptical of the rest. MacOS was utter garbage until they pitched it all out and built on BSD/Mach.

I work for Verizon, and I really see no reason to choose an iphone over a droid. The Iphone is a gorgeous phone, probably the best looking phones out there. But with something like the HTC Thunderbolt being out there. $250 gets you a 4g device, preloaded with a 32GB sd card, 8.0 camera... Why would you pay $300 for an iphone.

I do admit tho, Motorola droids can be very laggy when running motoblur... But once you root it and install a custom ROM, the Iphone has nothing on it.
