Default ipod Touch

OK so I'm a bit out of the recent technology scene. I have an old generation ipod nano that I love.

What's with the ipod touch? What do you use yours for?

Do you find it useful or is it just a nice to have toy?

I don't have a fancy cell phone nor do I care to upgrade to one so let's not turn this into an ipod touch vs. iphone debate. It will serve no purpose to me. I just need the facts on the touch.

Let the flow of information begin!!!!

Thanks!

i like my unlocked iphone, just bought it the other day if anyone is looking to sell one, i'll buy another just for the +1

anyways, i was thinking about getting an itouch. i would definitely say it's an upgrade to the ipod nano

you can post on s2ki with the web browser if you're in a wifi spot (or connect to a wireless router at your home)

put a video on it and watch on a nicely sized screen

Easy to use

oh and if you're in a wifi area, you can download a bunch of free apps

i'm still new to the iphone/itouch thing, so i know others will say much much more

Sounds very interesting!

I'm assuming I could load some pics on it as well?

I think Kenta and Zippy have the touch. Hopefully they will fill us in on all the good stuff.

Cool! Thanks for all the info Dave.

I use to use a palm pilot - looks that the itouch can replace that plus do everything else under the sun.

I'm a big iPod Touch fan and would probably be an iPhone user if ATT had service in my area. I basically use the touch for e-mail, web surfing, checking my twitter, facebook, etc. Obviously it works better if you have Wifi for those things. On my last few personal trips (NYC/Seattle) I just left my laptop at home because everything I need to do, short of download/upload my photos from my camera. It's also good for watching movies/music and no.. you aren't tied to iTunes Store. I haven't bought a single song, video, or application from it.. granted I've seen some pretty cool games now for the platform that I'm thinking of buying. As Dave pointed out there are a ton of apps and a good number of them are free. Big for this gadget.

the itouch/iphone needs a nice AIM application that doesn't sign you off everytime you exit it and it'll be the best!!!

that's the only thing stopping me from upgrading my $20 sidekick plan to a $35 data plan.
