What's you're experience with changing out the top? It looks like it will have to be done in the spring. Rick found another small wear spot on the passenger side. No real tears, but once it starts....

Send me a PM with pricing. I might know a guy with a garage we can use, and maybe a couple other folks will get on board.

Excellent idea! I need references from any potential installer. Rick has a line on someone who has done them in the past.

In that ball park, depending on the top you buy. Raymo in Vintage has suggested Robbins after market top, around $600.00 OEM ones are more expensive. I got a couple quotes on labor $650-750.00. I believe folks have said it's an 8 hour PIA of a job.

For top and installation, I've heard rumors of 2K+. Not sure that is true neither of us called to ask. Rumor has it they often send the job out. Rick's body guy, knows a guy who has done tops on the S as well as other imports. Unless some trustworthy S2000/S2KI installer guy is available, we'll probably go with the guy the other guy knows.

Does your top have issues, Bill?

i replaced my top this past summer. went from a 00 to a robins glass top with OEM material. I did the installation with a friend. (mind you we have never worked on anything like this) project took about 11 hours total. about 4 hours were taken waiting for a rain cloud to come and go and putting new rivets in the top. Taking the top off was easy and putting it back up was a bit of a challenge. mostly because the new top hasnt been stretched. I followed up the DIY from a member here. will post pics. LazyProfessor has seen the end result. anyway GL with the search. If anyone does a tech day i'd be willing to show and participate!

I sent a PM to "lazy" the guy who did the install in NY. I don't know how many people he needs lined up to make his trip worth while. If you have interest in doing this in the spring, let me know.

Just checking options.....
If your hear from SoftTop Guy, "lazy", please let me know. I was in on a group install near Newburgh, NY in the spring. i paid for the top and went to have it installed, but he had ordered the wrong one, thus no top installed for me. He assured me that he would be back soon to install the top, but that has dragged on and on and now he will not return calls, emails, texts, PMs, etc. Looking at the Carolina's forum, some there have had problems with SoftTop Guy. I may have to resort to legal action.
