Thumbs up Jury duty

Do you go to work if dismissed early from jury duty?

I have, my +1 has, but most people look at it as a paid day off. Both times our jury service was in our home town.

I think the court encourages people to report back to work if you can, since the employer has to pay you for the day, but........

I answered "No" but last time I was called, I was seated and had to run back to my office to re-schedule one meeting and run another on the second day when we were let out early while the judge and lawyers did some wrangling.
I ended up chairman and we came back with a conviction.

As far as I know companies are only obligated to pay you for three days....you wouldn't love it so much if you were on a lengthy trial earning only $50.00/day. Self employed people aren't too fond of jury duty either.

Rick had jury duty today. Got dismissed early. Defendant decided to take his chance with the judge. Rick went to work.

Jim turn off that Blackberry.........jury duty = day off.

funny thing about blackberrys and iphone and wired PDA's judges are getting pissed at jurors.
seems they been doing their own research while in the jury box which gets cases thrown out as mistrials.
