Just Got Pulled Over
Well, driving today I was pulled over on Troutbrook in West Hartford. Not for speeding but for "Failure to obey control sign" Pretty much I ran a red light. Honestly I'm not sure if it was red or not I was following a school bus and couldn't see the light ahead, morning traffic. Anyhow the ticket is for $114. What a way to start off a day. I guess the only bright side about it, I wasn't driving the S. My winter beater. Anyone know how much this might raise my insurance rate? First offense.
Do NOT Under Any Circumstances plead guilty and pay the fine. Plead Not Guilty and send the ticket in. You will get a court date. Show up and they will offer some reduction in penalty. In my case (also a red light) I had to make a contribution to a charity of the magistrate's choice and got no record and the ticket went away. This will probably be the case as long as no accident occurred, which I assume it did not.
Every court date I have got after sending back a ticket (to plead my case) has been anywhere from 2-7 months later!((I think one was actually 8-9 months actually, that town must have been Crazy backed-up though that year)..
worth a shot.go for it..(at the least, youll be giving yourself lots of time to a few bucks a week aside to pay for the fine, worst case scenario.yup)
