Kindle?

You dog-ear your books?! Gah! That's what bookmarks are for!
My books are cheap, cheap purchases. The price of a Kindle and buying books to read on it is not in the budget.
Either I go to a used book store and trade old ones in for credit and get new ones at a discounted price, OR, my friend passes on books she and her Mom buy at BJ's for low prices and I buy lunch at the trade off. We like the same kind of books so that makes it even better.
Paper back books, not hard cover. I've never been one to re-read books so I see no need to have a library of them. We've got some hardcover books in a book case in the basement just taking up space.
Lainey, do you have any idea what companies like BJs do to companies to get the low prices they offer? then they trick consumers into thinking they need ten pounds of spaghetti sauce just so they can throw out 9 lbs at the end of the week.
What a shameful company. Putting the squeeze on companies for lower prices, tricking consumers into wasting money, and wasting food/resorces with overly large products.

the sauce comes in individual jars they have the BEST meat / deli prices around and if I buy 500 paper towels they wont go bad
heck my new 50 inch plasma was 400 less at BJs than wally world
steak and BJs for the win!!
My brother is in line to get a Kindle 2 but he's also a perfect candidate for one. He reads a lot of books because he travels a lot, and by a lot I mean traveling 75% of the year. The newer one has on-line access to wikipedia and on-line content downloads, also the option for subscriptions (like to the NY Times)... slick.
Personally I can't justify a 350-400 dollar e-reader device. One of the biggest gripes I have about it is that while the books are cheaper to get electronically you also can't let a friend borrow it when your done. One of the biggest things I like about physical books is the ability to say "You have to read this!" then giving my friend the book to borrow. Even Kindle to Kindle transfers aren't allowed.

Its not even just books, you can get your morning newspaper sent over each morning to the kindle or a magazine to the kindle each month. The price is kinda steap, but the convience of having books and other media just 60 seconds away is very compelling.

I don't shop there, my friend does.I do my part by recycling the books so that more people don't have to shop there.
