LASIK
Yea, I saw that site... some encouraging points is that most of the "horror stories" seem to be from a couple years ago...?
I'm mostly convinced to do it - but I would feel better if I was able to talk to more people with a "success" story.

My ex Gf had the lasik surgery done with good results. I am also contemplating doing this as well. At the time (in 2002) when i was dating her, she had had the surgery done 2 yrs prior already. I remember her saying something about you have some required visits to make back to the opthamaligist shortly after the surgery just to check up and see the progress. She was also a opthamalogist asst abd claimed her Dr (in westchester NY) had done hundreds of surgeries successfully.
Im guessing, and my common sense tells me to go to a Dr who has performed many of these surgeries already with great success. I have to read more about this on that site. Thanks for the Link

I am looking at a place in Vermont (www.vermontlasereye.com). I know at least one person who had a good experience there, and they seem very professional and able to answer my questions immediately. Most of the people I know who have had it done went to Montreal because of cost.
Justin,
my best friend went to Vermont Eye Laser and he had wonderful results. However now a few years later...his eyesite has starting getting worse again and now he's back to wearing glasses. Sometimes you can have it done more then once, but it depends on how think that part of your eye is. He's kind of a special case...as when he had his done he was told because of some of how bad his eyes were that it was very possibhle that sometime he'd start losing his eyesight again. So, your best bet is to jusy make an appointment and check it out! Best of luck my friend!

a friend of mine, his father had the surgery done id say about 3 or 4 years ago... he had to go in twice because when they first did it, they did something wrong to his left eye, so he had to wear one contact... but it was fixed after about a month, and he now has had no problems with it

If you are willing to travel you can go for the cutting edge and go for the "No Touch" laser vision correction. London Place "No Touch" I had my eyes done about three months ago and my girlfriend had her eyes done about a month later.
I had it done just about a year ago and I can't tell you enough how amazing & life-changing it is! For years, my husband tried to get me to do it and I wouldn't, mainly because I was scared. Finally, I just had enough w/ the glasses and contacts, and everything else. Compared to some people, my eyes weren't that bad - but I still needed contacts or glasses to see anything detailed (ie: clocks, TVs, books, signs, etc.) more than a few feet in front of me.
I found a place in Miami that my husband's friend had used and been very satisfied with. I went in for a consultation & was extremely confident in the facility, the procedure, and the doctor. I had the consultation on Tuesday and had the procedure done that Friday at noon! I came home, slept for a few hours and by 6pm, I could clearly see the clock on the other side of the room! It was amazing! My eyes were dry for about a week, but that's supposedly normal.
A year later, I kick myself for waiting so long. It was, by far, the best money we had ever spent. I really consider it a life-changing procedure!
The one thing that the doctor did point out was that this does not fix the eye problems that come as you age. I'm 26 now (soon to be 27) and he did say that as I get into my 40's and 50's, I may need reading glasses. But hopefully by that time there will be a new laser procedure to fix that!!!
Good luck with it!
