Pshh. If there's one thing I maintain, it's that I've never paid money for pr0n.
Pr0n, like good advice and common sense, should be free.
My problem with "charity" is that many recipients of it (Note: Certainly not all) lack any common sense. I'm fine with giving and helping people who have had bad luck, bei it social, financial, or medical. But I simply do not believe in helping people who make poor decisions, especially those that make it more than once.
There are FAR too many people who smoke, drink, spend $10 a day on their morning coffee, and want the Gov't to help them pay to heat their house when the weather gets cold. Or worse, feed and clothe their children when they can no longer do so. (It's not the kid's fault their parents suck)
Charity works well when everyone gives a little to help out the rare person with a misfortune.
There are just too many people now who feel entitled to a certain level of government assistance.
