Default Local Introduction

Hey guys. My name is Rod. I live in Central Connecticut and I've been a lurker on s2ki for probably 3 years now or close to it and I figured it was time to finally pop in and introduce myself as I do plan on attending as many meets/outings/get togethers as I can.

I originally signed up here after an encounter I had on 72>Rt. 9 South with a Silverstone AP1 in my RSX. Those were the good 'ol days....

Last November I decided to part out my Supercharged Type S and get rid of my daily driver '02 impreza wagon to get into 1 all around car. I was tired of constantly worrying if my RSX would be there when I got out of work or not and it wasn't worth the headache. So I pulled the trigger on my new daily driver when the offer came to a point where it couldn't be refused.

0% Financing for 5 years, $7,100 off sticker. This car ended up blowing up twice, first time due to Subaru's lack of making a decent tune, and the second time due to the idiots at Harte Subaru not knowing what the hell they're doing. After everything was said and done I got a bit of compensation so the car actually ended up costing me $27,xxx OTD...can't complain about that .

Quickly modded it with a V Limited Replica lip. stock fogs were horrendous so I tossed a 55w 3000k hid kit from work and a set of 6000k low beam bulbs.

Piston ringland failure.

Fuction > Form.

Between the car blowing up twice and the hassles of dealing with Subaru to fix a COMPLETELY STOCK car under warranty (mind you there are about 17 documented cases of this happening on stock-stage 2 cars) I got fed up and said to hell with the STi, I'm going back to Honda. So I started hunting for a Pearl White 06 TL 6spd w/ Nav on black. VERY rare combo, and ended up finding this...I couldn't pass it up.

And after some time this is how she sits. When I bought the car it was a mess, EPS didn't work, it vibrated really badly and misfired. Since them I've fixed the EPS, the vibrating was worn axle cups so had those flipped around, and it doesn't misfire as much anymore. I replaced 1 coil that had a rotted out insulator on it but it still hesitates sometimes so I think my MAP is bad. Anywho, this is the current status of the car. Waiting for brakes/tires. Yes I know the paint is shot ....saving up to get a good paint job in the winter, probably going to get BB as I am not baller and don't have $$$$ for anything nice.

Bald tires , HUGE snow tires lol, and as you can see I have a spare rear bumper that came with the car. The stock one was cracked/scraped and completey beat and since I don't have the $ now for paint I decided to make a mural until I do lol. Go ahead and flame, I'm not stopping until its completely done.

Well thats all, just wanted to say hi and get aquainted with my fellow NE S2000 owners. Hopefully I'll get to actually meet some of you soon, only met a few so far.

-Rod

Hi Rod welcome to the group and congratulations on the S!

Keep an eye out in the forum for meets. Here is a few that are coming
up...Sunday in Wrentham, MA. "dibi" is hosting a pizza meet, the Lars
Anderson Japanese car show in Brookline, MA. I believe on the 16th, a
little further away from you is the Exotic car show at the Budweiser
brewery in Merrimack, NH. on the 22nd and Import Wars at NE
Dragway in Epping, NH. on the 29th.
