Default Looking for porter cable lesson

Ok... It's about time I actually learn to use my PC correctly. My car needs some serious swirl removal and polishing. I've considered paying $100-$150 for a "detailer" to go over the car, but even at that price I don't exactly trust them to do it right. I know we have a couple of car care zealots in the area, and I'm hoping someone can set me straight.

If there is enough interest, maybe we could make it a group thing. A little tutorial on some preferred products and application methods. It's just a thought, I'm not sure how that would work out in practice.

Either way it goes, I'd really like to finally learn to use the porter cable I've owned for 7 years or so correctly. I'll happily pay whoever is willing to instruct. Just name your payment... a case of beer, chocolate dipped OREOs, a pony, girls, a small island in the Bahamas... whatever.

tell ya what - do you know anything about drywall?? maybe we could cut a deal - as i need to hang some drywall next saturday and if not a pony or girls would be the next best thing

how about next sunday - we did Glenn's car last week and it came out pretty darn good BUT we were not too agressive and you can still see some small swirls and Doug and i did his hood / trunk and i'm pretty sure he's happy with the outcome

i have everything you'll need with regards to pads, and polishes

I can do that, just let me know if you need anything to do the drywall. I have some tools for that as well. Just let me know if you need anything like cordless drills, keyhole saw, drywall hawk, taping knives, or dremel with a circle cutting attachment.

Erik - this is what i have planned for your car - we have the tools and the polish

http://www.sportscarcare.com/scc/casestudy.asp

i would ask that if you're happy with the results - i'll take a pony and ask that you buy your products from Chip at www.sportscarcare.com because he is a sponsering member of nes2ko...

That's great for me, I have the porter cable and a Meguiar's soft and a cutting pad. I also have small collection of various polishes and such that are way past their serve by date. So, I'm hoping I can take notes on what gives good results and just buy that. If I can get them from a NES2KO member and hopefully all from one place, all the better.
