Default March 1st...Is winter over?

I always get the feeling that once we make it through February the worst of the winter is over. It may have been just my imagination but when I took the dogs out this morning it sounded like the bird population increased overnight. I'm not putting my headlights on at 5:00 PM anymore. Can top down weather be far behind?

You're right. Even if it may snow tomorrow , winter is almost over. We've got more daylight, the birds are out and about, AND I've dusted off my sneakers and walked a couple of days after work. A sure sign of spring.

We hope to have the S out in a couple more weeks.

Well don't forget Daylights savings is moving an hour earlier than usual. Mark your calendars for March 11 to roll forward an hour.

Sounds like mostly rain for us in southern CT. I hope that it washes away some of the salt and sand so I can again.

March:
Marches in like a lion, out like a lamb.

Now if that holds true, with the storm this Friday, we should have a relatively early spring.

Bring it on

I almost got a picture of a cardinal outside my window on the weeping cherry.
the bright red male was pretty against the snowy backdrop.

Calling for another 8-14" of snow/ice here friday...it all depends on how cold it is. Hopefully this will be that last big shot of the frozen stuff. Still chilly here...I had -4 this am but now is sunny and warming into 20's.
