Okay, for as long as I can remember, the registration form from the DMV has been a half slip of card stock paper with a place for an insurance stamp, fee, name/address, etc. Sometime after April last year, it was quietly changed to an 8 1/2 by 11 sheet of paper that looks nothing like the old form.

I went to get my inspection this morning and the guy said I didn't have a registration so I showed him the form that has passed for a registration for years. He pointed out it was a renewal form. I immediately went to my insurance people who said that should have been sent in. Well, I got my decal last December/January and she confirmed I did, in fact, have a valid registration. Off to the registry with the print out and $25.00 later, I now have the new, official registratiom form.

Anyone who has renewed their registration in the last year might want to double check that lest you get stopped and not be able to provide your registration on demand.

 

Just renewed my DD last night. We'll see what I get in the mail!

Due to vanity plates, I renew MA ever October for the HONDUH. That one last fall was still the 1/2 paper sheet.

don't really see what the issue is other than it saves the RMV $$$ on card stock

 

when you get right down to it the registration is a pretty silly document now.
The only use for it is if you have to exchange papers following an accident.
otherwise it is always validated by electronic means by the police or inspection station anyways.
