Not too keen on pulling things apart as nothing looks that someple. Ive been running a little carb cleaner in it and its running better, kinda. I still cant actaully use it yet.

between your last two posts steve I was getting confused, oil burners don't have carbs or float bowls, oh wait no never mind.
and yes frozen pipes suck.
I have a heating zone that froze when we lost power.
finished replacing the heat exchanger when I saw the frozen pipe with ice bulging through.
I'd almost forgotten how much I hate plumbing.

you do know in a pinch you can use diesel fuel - get like 5 gallons and that should be enough for a day or two
if it was me - i would find a new company that does auto delivery - penny wise pound foolish comes to mind - frozen pipes suck

Oil man showed up at 8:30 this morning, 247 gallons delivered
and he primed the boiler for me for $10 additional.
Heat is running again, no frozen pipes because I had power I just
put one of the faucets on enough to trickle before I went to bed.
Heated waterbeds FTW!!
Mark, next time leave a check in the mailbox for X number of gallons as Bass suggested. Less aggravation for sure.
You can't "play" the oil market, hoping for the best price. It's like "playing" the stock market and we all know how well that works.

I was able to play the market a little bit...got it for the lowest price
we have had here in quite a long time and it has been at $2.14 for
awhile so I'm thinking that it has bottomed out.
It helps that the oil company has a billboard out in front of the
station that I drive by every day where they update the price so
I was able to track it from day to day.
I just waited one day too long to see if the price would go down
just a little bit more.
The other benefit is now I know EXACTLY where the gauge will be
when the tank is totally empty.

I have the tank filled whenever we get to 1/2 tank. A couple days either side as I'll check price. Easier on the budget to write a smaller check, and I'll never run out of oil.
