Thumbs up My pitching career might be over.

Anyone here had surgery to repair a rotator cuff?
I go in for an MRI next week to determine the extent of the damage.

If it's a simple tear, you should do fine. Obviously range of motion is the biggest issue after this injury.

Until they look at your MRI, they don't know what they are dealing with. Good luck.

Be sure to get a doc who does a TON of these surgeries, and PUSH to get it treated soon.

If you delay treatment, your end result may not be as good as you hope for.

Sorry to hear. You were such a promising prospect... maybe they'll take a chance on you in the 2nd round.

<< Severe strain... goin on 5th month recovery... Still hurts on daily bases, slept with ice packs. Took 1200mg of Ibuprofen a day for 2 months. Starting last week has been able to bench 20lb dumbells and do 3-5 pound shoulder raises and rotator cuff rehab with 1-3 pounders. But no more. Give or take as long as I don't reinjure it I need at least 4 more months to be back to 255lb benching.

I think you should be fine if its just a strain or a minor tear and no operation really needed. Just will take a LONG time to be back to normal. If its a serriouos tear, usually you cant move your arm at all, or VERY move is painful and simply impossible to bring the arm above shoulder level. Or even to put it behind your back.

My friend has been dealing with his from Boxing as well for over a year, he tore his.

Keep us posted.

great.
not what I want to hear.
yeah. Lifting my arm above shoulder height produces sharp pain. And I have trouble putting it behind my back so putting on jackets is a challenge.

Im still fairly strong but I get pain if I use the arm. Sleeping is an issue, I wake up at night in pain. Sat night was the first night in a while I slept all night...but I medicated myself

Scott, Doing well. Just living life. Kid is great. Rocking a VW R32 these days. Took it up to NHMS last month and beat the crap out of it. fun.

Track day is actually what caused me to call the Dr about my arm. I was going into a corner and was trying to hold myself in the seat with my arms, I got a sharp pain and let go of the wheel and nearly went into the wall...
