I want the car to look nice for HMS tomorrow, and we've had a lot of that green gunk falling from the trees, so I wanted to make sure my soft top looked nice. So, I took it off the car (that took FOREVER, hope I can get it back on!) and put it in the washing machine, low cycle, used Woolite and cool water. Now, I want to iron it so it looks nice. What setting on the iron do you guys use? Do I want to use steam or no steam? I don't think it matters on the steam, since it's PVC (vinyl), but the heat setting is probably pretty important.

A quick reply would be great, cuz my car is naked without the top! Thanks!

You took your soft top off?!?!?!?

That is the first time I have heard of that!!!

And now you are about to iron it?!?!? Again... first time I have ever heard of that!

Well.. my first recommendation is not to even iron it... but if you really want to...my next recommendation is to iron it on a very low setting...

What I have done, and what is usually recommended is to wash the top (while it is on the car) with a product like Roll Off or 303. This process also protects the vinyl.

I just hope I am reading this post wrong, and I am totally misunderstanding you.

April Fools. (No fun if I did it on April 1, when you would have expected it!)

Yeah, I'm in one of "those" moods. Made you do a double-take though, right?

The hardest part was getting my glass window to actually fit in the washing machine. That's an advantage you plastic window guys have!
