Need a new Car Battery
So my 2yo daughter is now able to open the S2000 door in the garage. She refers to it as "Daddy's Race Car," and she enjoys climbing in and sitting in the seat, pushing buttons, playing with the shifter, etc. Well, the most recent time, my wife didn't close the door all the way, and now I have a nearly dead battery. I haven't tried to crank it, but judging by the extra dim courtesy lights, it won't turn over.
I know the battery is at least 5 yrs old, so I figure it's time for a new one anyway. Does anyone have any recommendations for a battery? It currently has an OEM Honda battery in it, but I don't know what else is available for this car.

Duralast gold for me as well, so far no issues only a couple months old though... Track car has an odyssey but I have yet to test it out much, does fire up the car very easily though for such a small battery.
Have you just re-charged it? I've run my OEM down a couple times from inactivity and its been great. I have been using the OEM for 6 years now and it still works as it did when new. I have seem some impressive figures out of the S2000 OEM battery. I will pay the premium for another if this one ever dies. There's upstate NY members on the OEM battery for over 10 years.

It's certainly possible the battery is original to the car, I'd have to check. I do try to drive it year-round, so it's never been deep-cycled or needed a jumpstart since I've owned it. I just assumed that after 13+ yrs, it's unlikely.

We got seven years out of ours. We had one no start last year, then another tough time turning over. That was it. We weren't messing with it. The car sits all winter and the battery is not removed, so we were not unhappy with the life span we did get from the original.
PS I love that Julia likes Daddy's Race Car!

Use one of the Harbor Freight gift cards to buy a trickle charger. I have seen it as low as $4.99 with a coupon. I have not tried the Harbor Freight one, so I cannot vouch for it. I have a Battery Tender, but it is much more expensive. Keep the charger connected to the car and plugged in when you are not going to be starting the car for a couple weeks. My street car battery (new Honda OEM) would go dead after a few weeks of non use, if not on the trickle charger.
You will need the battery fully charged, before using the trickle charger. It will not charge a battery with a low charge. Use the other gift cards for a real charger.
For those with cars stored outside, a solar charger will work. My Chevy truck battery was going dead if I did not use the truck for a few weeks. I installed a solar charger that I keep on the dash (when not driving) and problem solved.
