Steve did you try to update the firmware? I had a few crazy thing happen with a router and as soon as I updated the firmware it fixed everything???

Make sure you put some encryption on your router. you don't want someone like me hacking into it uploading a hacked firmware to increase the signal strength so I can get a better signal. I'm also running my vonage phone and slingplayer off of there router

Not being secure = free internet for me! (dumb people)

Thanks Kev.. I may try that tomorrow

as for the security - thought about it BUT i really don't have any neighbors close enough to use my wireless router (closest house is 2+ acres away) so I never bothered

Wired is always faster. At least for today. The 54g (54megs) series and n series (not yet standardized) just cannot match the gigabyte speed you can get with wired.

I just got some news from Verizon on my speed. Seems that they upped our Fios speed for no increase in rate. They jumped from 15meg down to 20 and 2 meg up to 5. Now if we only could have other sites alow us to use all that muscle.

As far as your problem did you try rebooting the router? I had a similar problem. We could not get out to the net. Did you start up the logging feature of your router? If you did is it indicating an error? Mine was not assigning internal addresess to all my pc's. I ended up having to do a factory reset. All went well after that. If your DHCP tables are jammed a factory reset has to be conducted.
