Default Need some tech help with IE.

This site: http://ads.x10.com/xstream/lighting_BESTD41.htm
Keeps popping up when I reboot and open up explorer. I can't figure out how the hell to get rid of it!!!! Sometimes it takes a while for it to pop up and it's just driving me up the wall!

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jim

Not sure if this will help... and I am no computer expert... but this is what I got to help stopping popups...

download... http://toolbar.google.com/ and install... the google toolbar has a site popup blocker...

I hope this helps...

Oh... also try downloading ad-aware 6.0 and spy-bot search and destroy... those two programs will get rid of tracking cookies

I've used adaware in the past and it just doesn't seem to catch everything. Since then I've used a combination of SpyBot and HiJackThis (for those REALLY hard to kill spyware programs).

There's a utility I used before to get rid of spyware called hijackthis. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=3155

I advice you to use this as a last resort because the utility identifies good files too. so you have to be somewhat knowledgeable on what your deleting.

Jim, that teaches you to stay away from those xxx sites.

Not until you run a utility that totally cleans out that piece of software. Try Spybot or Hackthis and get back to us.
