Car 2004 - purchased January 3, 2004

Mods - CAI, S pods, amp, decals, Muz Mats and painted calipers...

Rick found S2KI while surfing the internet. It was decided I would be the social director/S2KI poster and he would be the driver.

1st meet Tech day April 2004 Dark Night's house...Met Bass, Legal Bill, and a few others. Didn't think the group was for us....mostly young guys wrenching on cars. Not what we were looking to do. BUT about a month later, at Legal Bill's invite, we met on the Cape for dinner, and an after dinner drive. We were hooked after that.

Next think I know, I'm organizing meets myself. We've had a blast, put 41K+ miles on the car since January 2004, and have been to meets all over the place, including many out of state ones with the Vintage pals.

For us, it really is about the people. We have made life long friends here. In my I know if we ever needed help with anything, many of those we have met would be right there for us.

Oh, here's the car. Not a great pic...we don't take too many car pics...this one was scanned...

One from our first Vintage meet in WV.

I found S2KI looking around for a club to get into shortly after I bought my S. My very first meet was a canyon run with one other S, lol. The next meet had 14 or so S' show up to help do a clutch job. Made a lot of good friends in the Arizona group. Since moving to the northeast, my impression has changed - but I think that has to do with overall demographics. I have no issue with anyone here, just think some people forget this is just a car/forum and we're all here for fun and because we choose to be here (ahem...lainey...ahem )

Date S2k was bought

April 5th 2005... bought it used from a kid in CT. He warned me not to try taking corners quickly because he tried it and spun off the road.

Year make and Model

2000 black with red/black interior

Mods

100% stock

Years of ownership

Refer to my s2ki age, I signed up the day I bought it.

Who or What brought you to S2ki?

My car came without the foam tool holder, a jack, and tools. I signed up to post locally hoping someone had put a subwoofer or something in that spot and was willing to sell their unused tool kit for cheap. Francis had a second one and sold it to me for cheap.

What were your initial thoughts of the group ? And how do they fair now ?

Francis performed a 412 point inspection of my car in the Boch Honda parking lot where I met him to buy the tool kit. He also presented me with a die-cast model of my car. I thought it was a little strange to be honest, but not strange enough to dissuade me from showing up at a surprise birthday party for Cubby at Bugaboo Creek a few weeks later.

Would you do it again?

Of course.

I forgot to answer the "Would you do it again?

YES!

And if the economy improved, we'd upgrade and buy a screaming yellow one, or, if we hit the lottery, I'd get a new yellow one, Rick would keep the Suzuka, and send a bunch of business Scott's way as the Suzuka would get a bunch of mods.

Date S2k was Bought-
Ordered in October 2001, had to have April or May delivery, refused to take a car built early in 2002 run, and left to sit. Made final price deal on December 31, 2001 by abusing several dealers with "well what are you going to do to sell a car today?

Year make and Model-
2002, Honda, S2000 and or course 1990, Honda, CRX-Si

Mods-
S2000- custom rollbar, custom powdercoated wheels, lots of small stuff like shifter knob, red line warning beeper, glove box organizer...
CRX-Si- way, and I mean way too many to list, it was my track car for 10-years

Years of ownership-
S2000- since April 2002
CRX-Si- since February 1991

Who or What brought you to S2ki?-
Fell in love when I saw the SSM concept in the October 1995 issue of AutoWeek that covered the Tokyo Auto Show. Wanted another Honda, had to have rear wheel drive for my next track car.

What were your initial thoughts of the group? And how do they fair now?-
Good, good. Some better than others.

Would you do it again?-
Do what again, buy an S? Yes, but only if it was aused AP1, the 9-grand motor means a lot to me.

Who or What brought you to S2ki ? - Research on Buying my S2000 back in the fall of 2002.

What were your initial thoughts of the group ? And how do they fair now ? - Great group of people from many backgrounds with the shared interest in an S2000. We are at a turning point with the car model now 8 years old. Will we continue like some of the other classic car clubs or will we go away once the S2000 discontinues.

Would you do it again ?
Hell Yes!!!
