New owner!
Well I finally got around to picking up my new toy. Back story: Earlier this month I was shopping for a higher MPG vehicle than my 2011 5.7L Ram. I love my truck but with gas what it is and my daily commute I was shopping for a cheaper to drive car. As usual my shopping turned to the performance side which resulted in me contacting an Autotrader seller down in FL. After some negotiations and having a family member go look at the car (she lives 20 mins away from the seller) I shipped him a check and he shipped me a title. My Neice took delivery of the car and held it in her garage for about a month while I worked out time off at work.
On the to adventure! My wife and I took some time off and jet setted off to FL on March 24th. We took the late flight out of Boston and landed at midnight. I finally say my new car at 1AM!!! I had never gotten a chance to drive an S2k for any real distance so I was happy to see that I fit nicely in the car. Talk about gambling on a long distance purchace! I got it for a good price and figured worst case I can sell it for a profit pretty quick. Well that thought is gone! I'm keeping this go-kart!
Rather than shipping the car I crunched the numbers and talked myself into driving the car home. Once my wife got involved it turned into a mini vacation with stops in GA, VA Beach then a marathon run home on Wednesday. Everyone we met on the way home laughed at us for driving the car all that way. It was fun though.
Here she is at my Neice's house in North Port FL:

One the road to our first overnight in Savannah GA:

We took the night off in GA and stayed in a nice hotel. We woke up refreshed but the temps were low in the AM. We had driven all day the first day with the top down resulting in a quality sun burn for my wife and some decent color on my bald head!
Day 2 we pushed from GA through SC, NC and onto VA Beach where my wife's grandmother lives:
First thing we hit in the morning was an 18 wheeler that was split down the middle by a bridge support!

On to SC!

It's s sign! I missed taking a picture of the water tower with the Honda logo:

DRUG BUST! GO BLUE! This guy must have had some good stuff since he was cuffed and stuffed with a ton of backup on him. We only saw this and some Boarder patrol in SC and NC. Once we hit Virginia....watch out! I did the speed limit everywhere in that state!

I was excited to see South of the Boarder. My wife hyped it up. It doesn't help that the bill boards start 200 miles out either. Long story short....its a crap hole. I'm glad most of it was closed and I didn't have to deal with people everywhere. My wife took pictures of damn near every billboard though:

I ripped a quick U turn an on to NC. Not much to see here either. 95 was boring in general but I wanted to get the car home.

On to VA Beach! I like VA except for the police being everywhere! We stayed the night with her grandmother on the beach. It was cold as balls the one day we were there and proceeded out of VA Beach via the Chesapeake bay bridge. There is NOTHING after the bridge. Literally just a long straight road (13) and farm land....oh yeah and stop lights every couple of miles....which were all red when I got to them.

The last leg of the trip took us through MD, Del, NJ, NY, CT, MA and finally into the home state of NH.
We didn't take many more pictures on the trip. MD was flat, NJ sucked a fat one. You need to be a professional driver to keep up with those people. NY wasn't bad and we pushed up the to Tappan Zee Bridge since the GW had 3 lanes closed for construction. CT went by quick and MA drivers still take the cake as being the worst.
It was a fun adventure and the car held up great for such a long ass trip. My wife held up great for letting me buy a toy and then haul her up the whole coast in it. 2 Years ago we pulled a similar stunt when I bought an STI from a guy on NASIOC and flew into MD then drove it back the same day. She loved the ride in the S2K better than the STI! I have to admit the S2K was a bit more comfortable and more fun to drive.
I spent 2 days in FL and 3 solid days on the road. I saw no exotics
One Bentley, one riced out Integra R and 330 BMW drivin by two kids wearing UTI shirts on the NJ turnpike.
The car is crazy dirty after the trip and naturally we left when it was 70 out and brought back cold rainy weather.
Now I need to think about replacing the brakes (the squeaked the whole way home) and doing the 30k mile service. I definately need to do the trans and diff service.
I'm already planning some mods for the car but nothing over the top for now. If anyone has a lift (I live in Nottingham) that is willing to help with springs and and an exhaust in the near future it would be great!
Thanks for looking!

Welcome to the club and you got the best color for the S..
I guess we do have something in common my car was bought from FL as well at a Mitsubishi dealer which I saw it on autotrader back in 2004. Was gonna fly there and do a road trip back but didn't thought it would be uncomfortable consider its a two seater and I can't take a nap at the rest area. lol So the payment and everything was did online and I have the car shipped over. Is your S with tan interior you don't like the black/red interior combination?

One of my favorite colors! Congrats on the purchase. Talk about crazy drive to get your first S2000, but heck they're worth it.
I need to do pads on my car soon too. Someone needs to setup a tech day and let us use their garage

Yup. I got the Black with Tan interior. I've never been a fan of the red interiors. I was kicking around the idea of trading for a black interior or redoing it completely in black myself but the tan is growing on me.
