Cool NFL DRAFT WEEKEND!

Wow...

No surprise with Pats going Saftey and trading the 28th pick into a 1st rounder for next year... But then trading out of the 3rd round, again for next year really says they think this crop of players sux.

I was hoping they wouldnt pick Meriweather but the other safties worth taking were gone. He is a little small for a saftey for my tastes. I figure he needs to keep his gun at home and try not to stomp on anyone and he will be OK.

But Randy Moss to the Pats for a 4th round pick! Damn... The guy is a headcase, but what a talent and its really a low risk move by the Pats. No idea what they did with his contract but they did restructure it.

They had no one at WR last year now they are friggin loaded! Brady is one happy guy! And not only because who he plays with durring the offseason.

Guess I am the only draft geek. I have watched about 15 hours of draft coverage this weekend.

Part of the deal is that the Pats will not tolerate any crap. One screw up, and they've promised that they will release him. I think he's going to be motivated just like Dillon (not as much of a head case though) was to be on a winning team and get his first ring. Who would of thought that after last year the Pats could have just as many weapons to throw to as Manning.......maybe more!!

I was really surprised by the Pats' moves this weekend. I was surprised that they would trade away so many of their picks. I guess the players they wanted weren't available when they were picking.

I like the pick of Meriweather. As an alumnist of the U, I'm always happy to see a fellow alumnist on the team. Unfortunately, so far only Wilfork has really stuck. Plus, I feel Meriweather is a player made from the same mold as Ed Reed.

I'm also pretty excited about the Randy Moss trade. The investment they have to make in him is negligible. So, if it doesn't work out they don't lose much. I am hopeful he will play hard to earn a ring and personally I feel like this could be the best receiving core the Patriots have ever had.

My sole disappointment this offseason is that I think the team still needs to get younger at linebacker and needs additional depth at cornerback.

Love the trade. I am so freak'n excited I wish football season starts tomorrow. We basically traded our 28th pick for Niner's first round pick in '08 (projected to be 15 to 20) and Randy Moss. That's an amazing deal. We literally got him for nothing.

So who else thinks that Brady made a deal w/ the Devil? Bunchan, Welker, Stallworth, Washington, Moss...

Put all those new rec'rs along with Maroney, Faulk, Watson and a more than solid offensive line - the Patriots own defense won't be able to stop them.
