Anyone recognize this horn setup? I would love to do something like this. I always disliked honda horns. Does anybody know if this sounds like a diesel semi truck or a european car horn sound. Damn it looks loud!

That's my car It's definitely Ferrari sounding. I have been getting about a year's worth of salt damage out of the relay before I had to go through and replace it. I just redid the wiring earlier this week, replaced the relay and some wires, but this time I wrapped it all up in tape to prevent such horrible environmental damage to the system. The compressor leads could use a good scraping, so the sound isn't as loud as it should be...another day.

Very Niiiccceee! "Ferrari sounding" you say???

Come on don't leave a bro hanging:

Where did you purchase?
What's the name of the product?
Got any advice for install?
Where did you install it to, the existing horn wiring?
How long did it take to do it?
BTW, Looks like it is air powered?

Thanks, Man I think this will be my first MOD on my NA S2k!

George,

Your first mod should be an upgraded shift knob unless you got the Ti knob from Honda!

THEN get the horns...

I've seen the same Fiamm air compressor installed as OEM in Ferraris, but with a pair of blue horns. The air compressors do seem to wear out quicker than regular diaphram horns, but the whole kit is remarkably cheap at Auto Zone.

In fact, it is much cheaper to buy a replacement Fiamm air compressor in the Blazer kit from Auto Zone and simply throw away the horns and the rest of the kit, than to buy only the replacement Fiamm air compressor from a Ferrari Parts dealer.

Kind Regards, Chris

Actually, the horns that came in the package WERE blue, but I spraypainted them red. I did the same to the compressor, but it doesn't hold the paint as well and is pretty much back to the original colors of a blue cap with silver body. The horns still look perfect, though, so go figure.

The install actually takes about 2 hours, but if I prepare a lot of the stuff ahead of time, 1 hour isn't far off the mark. If you'd like, I'll install a set for you for $30 (or if you'd like me to provide the horns, add an extra $30 for the duals or $40 for the triples). The $30 install charge covers the metal brackets, the relay, connectors, wire, etc. I'd have it all prebent and wired, ready for install when you show up.

Mine are blue, also. I installed mine after a semi tried to make an S2000 sandwich of the semi, my S2000 and a Viper. Thank goodness I can get the he@@ out the way quickly. I was also glad that I had a Viper in front of me that accelerated faster than I did.

The horns definately sound very European, much better than the wimpy factory horn. Also quite loud. The trucks have no problem hearing me now.

Macgyver, I just did the same thing that you did, replace the horn relay and taped everything completely. Mine was not working at all because of a complete failure of the relay due to rust.

I bought mine at Pep Boys for around $40. I highly recommend this mod to everyone.
