Default Nova Scotia

Well, I survived an 8 day trip to Nova Scotia in the S. It was a wonderful vacation. Hands down the Cabot Trail was the highlight of the trip. It was a twisty, windy, and up and down road that had mountains on one side and the ocean on the other.

I posted 96 shots of the nearly 400 I took.
We arrived in Nova Scotia in the fog and it rained Thursday to Sunday morning. But as we were making our way to Margaree Bay on the Cabot Trail the sun broke through the clouds and it stayed sunny all they way to the next Thursday.
My pics are located at Nova Scotia. My site now has a slide show feature that will take you through all of the shots. You can also view individual pics at several sizes that will acomodate you connection speed. Below any individual picture you can select small, medium, large or original. Hope you enjoy the pics as much as we enjoyed the trip.If you have the time and the $$$ I highly recommend driving that road. It was wonderful.

The road on the Cabot were an outright blast. You did not meet alot of traffic and you could blast right along. But the scenery was so beautiful, you wanted to stop and admire the grandure, way cool.

Great pics, Bob! Thanks for posting them.

That's two S2000 owners who have made that trip this summer. I think we need to put that trip on our "to do" list.

I highly recommend Nova Scotia as a vacation get away.

Next year Connie and I plan on driving up the Maine Coast in time to catch the Rockland Lobster Fest at the end of July early August. It is going on this week Wednesday to Sunday. All you can eat pancake breakfast and then at 11am all you can eat Lobster. I am not yet sure on the admission fee, but I am sure one day at the fair would be enough. And then work on finding the 65 lighthouses that line the Maine Coast.

The Cabot Trail in certain sections was a total blast, glad I had the S. The climb up Mt. Smokey was a steep twisty narrow road. The ride down Mt. Smokey was the same. I was laughing from the fun I was having driving those parts. What a great drive.

If you hit the Rockland, ME area, and I think you will if looking for lighthouses, check this place out: Owl's Head Transportation Museum We went there several years ago. It was a neat place. LOTS of car museums in ME too. Sometimes we found the best ones where we least expected it.

There is lighthouse too!

To the Owls Head Lighthouse

Owls Head is home to one of the most beautiful and most photographed lighthouses in America. To get to the lighthouse, follow the directions above for coming from the west or North. Follow Route 73 out of Rockland to the signs for the Lighthouse (apx. 2 miles from Rockland.) Turn left and proceed into Owls Head Village (apx. 2 miles). Turn left at the village (by the Owls Head General Store and Post Office). Proceed down the hill towards the water and look for a sign for the lighthouse. Turn left and follow that road to the parking area at end of the road.
