The 01 and 02 speakers are very different in manufacturing. Paper vs plastic. I also have a pair of 2002 speakers. These will drop in, but even better since you have a 2001, you can buy my kenwood 6.5 that will fit for $15. The are on my for sale page.....or you can get my 2002 oems...you pay shipping.
