Panther XP - tips?
I know this is covered ad nausem elsewhere, but here I go, cuz I trust you guys.
I think I'll get the Panther XPs for racing only, leave OEM on the car for the street. I understand that this could cause rotor damage due to heat buildup, so I think I'll take off the heat/dust shield. BUT, I understand that I'd want to protect the rubber parts behind the shield, and I'm not sure how to best do that.
Anyone offer any advice at all?
Thanks!

Whazzzup Guys?
Vrm Vrm, You got it. However, on second thought... I would like to add that the XP's are very grabby and require some finesse. It maybe prudent to test some less aggressive pads and get your feet wet. I think CarbotechAndie's blanket recommendation are Panther Pluses. He's a great source of reliable info, give him a call.
g-s2k, You felt the power of the Hawk Blues, the XPs are much more.
That being said, with your Michelin Pilot Cup R-tires and how well you guys were driving you may easily outgrow the Panther Pluses.
As for protecting the rubber boots, I'm just using aluminum tape and so far no problems.

Thanks again for bailing me out of my last run of the day. It was a great opportunity to compare another brake pad at the track, and what a difference it was!
I did e-mail Andie and I am placing an order of XP's on the front and P+'s in the rear... hmmm... I wonder who orginally recommended that to me

Thanks again for all of your help and it was great to meet you... hope to see you again soon! Maybe at the VIR?!?

OH... and pictures will be set to you soon!
Whaaaaazzzzzzzzzzuuuuuuuuuuppppppppppppppp?
Don't mention it, the pleasure was mine. It was great meeting everybody!!
Hey, sounds like your hook. You just finished a track weekend and you're looking for another "fix". BTW, Aren't you guys going to NHIS in a couple of weeks?
I wish I could get back on VIR. We're banned from there. Mikey (on the board) says that they may relax the rollbar requirement, but don't hold your breath. Allan Haggai, Pro racecar driver, sold his S, one of the reasons being that he can't get on VIR. Another board member, Sexton turned-in his membership at VIR for the same reason. VIR is one awesome track. Carroll Shelby, back in the 50s said that "one lap around VIR, is like 100 at Watkins Glen." Now, that I've finally experienced the Glen, I would say maybe 10 laps. Just because VIR is especially built for the S.
BTW, Andie might play "20 questions" with you before you get the XPs. I can't stress enough that these pads are mean, especially when they get warmed up.
Last thing, if your having problems with your video, I can e-mail you mine.

Hi Vrm Vrm, Whaaaaaazzzzzzzzzzzzuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuupppppppppppppp pp?
PM me your e-mail. I can send you a 2 lap file 8 megabytes in size. You can just play it on repeat mode.
Its embarrassing, all the mistakes are so obvious, when your on the outside looking in.
Nope, I didn't need to shore-up the compartment. I does shake a little bit.

I just wish I could do more events like Chip is. I really need a roll bar or a hardtop! But we will be at NHIS at the end of this month!

And I have to say this.... with my membership with S2KCA I got an additional 10% off!
So that is another great reason to sign up with S2KCA!
