I was joking, Dave. POTD is fine with me. I'd like to win once in a while. As Bill said to me recently, "Make it happen."

 

I like the POTD, but I don't want to see it become official or formalized. Either leave it as it is, with Dave just handing 'em out, or maybe do the 2-part nomination:

1) Zippy Dave: "I nominate POTD!"
2) Someone else: "Second!"

and then it's done. It'd only take another minute.

That's way too much work.
The part that makes it fun is the random pop-up nature of the award.
Many days I never see the award, but that's fine.
I say keep the random, unpredictable character of this award as it is.
