Default Putting in silencers.

I have a brand new set of silencers for my Invidia that I have never used before.

they seem to be a really tight fit, so I just figured I would ask if anyone has a special method of getting silencers in before I start hitting it with a mallet.

the mallet method may be the best way, but I just wanted to ask first.

I'd try either heating the exhaust tips or freezing the silencers, if you can... do both.

Try putting them in with the exhaust hot, silencers cold......that may give you a little more tolerance.

I'd also consider high temp silicone based lube...light application.

Clean all parts.

Good ideas. there is quite a bit of carbon buildup inside the tips now, so I think I will clean those first, then let the exhaust heat up and use some lube to get them in.

I wonder if I should put a small amount of anti-seize on the mating surfaces before putting them in to make it easier to get out later.

I hate how silencers look with the puny little hole in the big tip

Just put them in. I can't tell if the car is running now unless I look at the tach

The left one is a tad bit crooked and I can't get the bolt in yet. I am letting it heat up again and hopefully it will loosen up enough that I can rotate it. The other one went in lined up perfectly.

It looks so pussy with the small holes though

You haven't heard quiet until you've heard my car. Stock FTW!
