Default Quick kill story

well i was driving on 395n today and a I guess 1985 Iroc pulls up next to me. revs the engine a few time (actually the car sounded awesome) must of had some work It looked to be in mint condition. well needless to say I had to show him not to sleep on this 4cyl. i go right by him and wait to see if he is going to play. well he does..and lets just say the look on his face when I slowed down to get off my exit (had to slown down quite a bit) "PRICELESS"

Bass was grumpy that day and I think talking about going 145mph or whatever set him off

People race. It happens. Been happening and gonna always happen. No one should be crucified for discussing it on a sports car forum.

Anyone who tells you they haven't gotten into a little "encounter" on the highway with thei S is either lying or has no pulse.

Disclaimer: I am not condoning street racing, just stating a fact

BTW: Puff, YOU are the guy who locks these threads now. You can get in even AFTER the lock!!!

The only time I've sort of been involved is when some little twirp "needs" to beat the S. Of course, he thinks he's racing but I'm simply driving, and it's like some mosquito buzzing around you.

That seems to happen all the time. Some times I make the hand motion of "leave me alone" or like shoeing a fly. If that doesn't work a thumb down usually gets the point across.

fixed that for you!

street racing is dangerous and reckless. pretty sure no one here is impressed by kill stories for two reasons

1) as mentioned most folks here have the same car and they can all go just as fast as the next S but then again there will always be someone out there who has a faster car then you - so there are no extra points for saying i killed an X.. heck i could post all day long that my lebaron killed that pinto at the light yesterday. does that impress anyone here? nope

2) there are many many threads that talk about auto cross and tracks and we have / had some of the top auto cross drivers in New England - Glenn, Scott, Bill, Aaron, and Francis. these guys know how to drive the S faster than most of us ever will, and they do it in a safe controlled environment. for those two reasons alone (they know how to drive and the do it safely) commands respect and appreciation.

Steve you got it wrong ..... Glenn , Aaron and Francis do it in a safe controlled environment .. That guy Scott .. he is just plain crazy and the luckiest SOB on 4 wheels

But Sad to say a Iroc is not a kill at only 170hp v8 ... i a pair of Magnaflows can make it sould like a 1000hp

Steve, you know I don't street race, and I NEVER drag raced on city streets because that's just asinine. But come on, you don't think doing a little pull on the highway with someone if the traffic is light is OK? Are you getting that crotchety in your old age?

I don't think he is posting to impress us, I think he is sharing something that happened in his day with his buds. Same as you recalling whatever you or I did in a day. He never mentioned going 150mph or whatever. I don't think a pull from 60 to 100 or so is all that bad man. Heck, I am more scared of the guy with three or four beers in him driving home. He's not quite shit faced yet still impaired enough to have an accident.

Personally, auto-x doesn't impress me at all or make me respect the driver any more either. Not saying that a pull on the highway gets me going wither, but just the same, auto-x isn't exactly the most exciting thing going.
