Default For Sale threads

So here is the deal. This is the first ina series of For Sale polls.

Now, we let everyone sell. Do you think that is ok? Do you think it should be a limited right?

Remember, the managment of the board takes no responsibility for For Sale threads. Everyone is on their own in that regard. That ain't gonna change

I will post another thread about format, such as one FS thread versus many like we have now, plus I will ask about for-sale etiquette.

Once we have all the discussions and issues polled, Cubby and I will set out For Sale guidelines.

Feel free to add thoughts and opinions below. (like you wouldn't do that anyway. )

I think if thier local and we can come pick up the item, everyone should be able to sell. I dont like Metros policy. I dont think we get to many for sale posts anyways.

I agree with the for sale section policy 100% saying you have to be a member to sell. but in the regional forums I think if your local you should be able to sell like you said Bass.

I think people here are close knit enough that continuing to allow anyone to sell isn't going to lead to many problems. There aren't that many for sale posts, at least in my short experience here.

Honestly, I just have no interest in being a paying member of the site... I like it, but I prefer to spend my money on other things. As stated before, if I needed to sell something and I wasn't allowed to here, I'd post it on Craigslist for free. Probably with minimal inconvenience.

I am fine with letting anyone sell. This group overall does a decent job of policing threads with bad deals. I don

Banning non-members from posting items for sale is to me short sighted.
Exactly who is loosing out?
Well the answer is, the paying members are for sure loosing out.
Who the f' cares if a non-member gets to post an item for free?
Local communities should have a focus on increasing membership and participation FIRST AND FOREMOST.
The more items listed the greater the interactions between people.
If anybody here thinks just because someone is a member then they are reliable then boy-oh-boy, do you have some learning to do...

I think the for sale policy and thread organization (or lack thereof) is fine the way it is. I think in this case, we're trying to address an issue that really isn't much of an issue to most.
