Not a shearpin, Rob. At least not one of the two that hold my two-piece auger onto the shaft. The shaft and the impeller just quit spinning. I heard a click, engine kept running, auger stopped. The impeller and auger blades were not hung up on ice or anything either. Something inside the unit just died. I don't know if it's driven with a belt or what....

(It's a troy-bilt unit with 8HP, tecumseh snow-king motor)

It's the auger drive belt on my Troy-Bilt. It split. I just need to get another one. Of course, *installing* a belt is always easier than removing a split one!

(good thing I kept the manual)
