Default Solid mechanic in RI or Mass

Hello all, Can some one recommend a solid (really good) s2k mechanic in Rhode Island or Mass? I have an appt with Billman in Long Island but world love to save the 8 hour drive. Need someone on par with Billman's skills.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I'm in the same boat.

Ballistic? Sure. But its 1.5-2 hrs away. The logisitcs for getting a car up there, having someone waste 1/2 a day to follow you up in another vehicle to when you have to leave it there (and again to pick it up = total is about 8 hours; 2 up, 2 back, 2 up, 2 back) is a bit harder to justify than a 15-30 min ride and getting picked up (at most 2 hours for the 2 trips).

HAHAHAHAHA!!! Try Milford, CT to Bow, NH. Done it........will do it again when/if the time comes that I need to have work done that I can't handle myself and the car is drive-able to get there.

People have gone from even farther away than me to see Scott. You won't find someone that knows and worked on as many S2000's in the region.

I know plenty of mechanics, but as for "S2K Mechanics", I've only heard of Ballistic. I've only know about Billman because he has like 1000000 posts here on S2KI helping out people so I don't doubt his knowledge.

Dent Sport Garage in Norwood MA. They do everything from routine maintenance to track setups to ECU tuning in house.

I just returned home Monday night from having upgrades and maintenance performed by Billman. I dropped the roadster off with Billman on Sunday, spent the rest of Sunday doing wineries, sight seeing and dinner on the shore with my wife. Monday we did some more sight seeing, then picked up the car around 3 PM, made our connection at Orient Point for the ferry to New London for 5 PM, arrived back in Western Massachusetts at 8:30 PM. We have a MY2001, I'm the third owner and I had the banjo bolts and valve retainers upgraded, rear axle tightened, transmission and differential fluids changed, new spark plugs, upgraded the TCT, he also fixed the squeaky clutch and adjusted the clutch as well. This was the first time I've brought the car to him, but most likely not the last. He does know how the S2000 ticks, I thought my car ran good before Billman did the work, but I could tell on the trip home that it was a whole lot better after Billman was finished.

I live 15 minutes away from Ballistic Motorsports and can say Scott is second to none with his s2000 knowledge, however getting a slot to drop your car off has gotten harder and harder within just the last year!!!

Good to know about the maintenance I have an 04 with 43k that may be going down to have similar maintenance, YOU HEAR THAT SCOTT!

How much did all of that maintenance run you cost wise?
