Here's a cheap trick: Take a hammer to the front plate - I mean really beat the crap out of it! Then leave it in your trunk. If a cop should ask why you don't have a front plate, tell him the car had recently been in an accident; show him the beat up front plate if necessary. Tell him you are in the process of getting a new plate and plate holder.
