Street Fighter IV
I picked up the new SF IV yesterday at Toys R Us. They have a deal to get SFIV for $60 (regular price) and then you can get one of the following games for $35 : CoD5, 007, FarCry2, Shawn White, or Afro Samurai. Not a bad deal if you wanted one of these already.
I only played for a little while but here are some quick thoughts:
Good:
+ Cool mix of 2D game play and 3D graphics
+ New characters!
+ New smoke-type moves (not sure what they call these). If you do say both medium punch + kick it will do a charging move with a cool smoke effect, at full charge it will knock down your opponent. I haven't figured out if there's anyway to combo w/charge because it takes a while to pull off. If your opponent was stunned I'm not sure why you just wouldn't do a regular combo instead.
+ Network play: While you're playing arcade mode if there's a match for network play it will automatically do a "NEW CHALLENGER" type thing and stop your computer match to play the real person. Just like someone was in the arcade and put a quarter in the machine to play against you. When done you can resume play back in arcade mode.
+ No ridiculous combos/annoying moves: At least none that I noticed. I haven't personally been able to pull off more than a 3-4 hit move with most players. Reminds me much of the original SFII.
Bad:
- Main screen intro song is terrible, they should have just left it alone with the basic SF theme music.
- In single player mode the cut scene/story line stuff is done in anime and it looks cheap and the dubbing is bad, obviously made for the Japanese market then dubbed into english.
- Network play is sometimes annoying if you're kicking butt then a new challenger arrives.
- Can't figure out how to make characters perform two types of throws, they take this out? Example: Throw appears to be both light punch & kick and when I do this with Ryu he only does a regular throw. Can't seem to do the rolling kick throw which puts your opponent on the opposite side of you. I used to do this because I play better facing left than right
I only put in about 30-45 minutes last night messing with it, but it seems cool. I'm an old school Street Fighter fan though to the point where I used to have the arcade machine in my first apartment.
If you're a SF fan depsite the annoying music and anime stuff I give it a
. Go buy it!

Find any killer combos yet?

look at my gamerscore and games that i play

let's play tonight, i haven't played it too much and dont know what killer combo's are
i can do super combo's and ultra combo's though
Might not be around tonight though because I'm headed up to Manch with some friends.
Hopefully we could still play against each other because I bought it for PS3 not Xbox360. Not sure how or if that can work out.
When I said killer I was talking about just good combos in general.

Double Dragon was a lot better than Street Fighter was.
I had lots of fun playing those games on line. Sveta looks at me like I am weird or something.
