Default Technical generic car question of the day...

Does a car with electronic fuel injection still fire gasoline into the cylinders when the car is in gear, foot is off the throttle, during engine braking?

For those few moments, does it use no gas, or just a little bit?

I have to figure it still uses some... but I'm curious just how little.

If it didn't use some, it wouldn't be running.

Normally the injectors shut off , you can see this with a Wideband when you lift .
