Q? for the PS3 owners.....does the new Gran Turismo support online play?
Could we all get together for a race night online?

Well, a bunch of guys I hang around with aparently have been having a really good time playing call of duty 2 online with their xbox 360s. they get together online all the time and go kill people from around the world.
sounds fun to me but I don't feel like spending a ton of money for yet another hobby.
I am wondering what the best deals are out there right now...
I need the 360, I have a wifi connection in my house, do I need a special adapter for the 360 to connect to the signal? I am going to need to get a spearate TV for the 360 since my wife and kids rule the main tv in the house. I was thinking of getting a widescreen monitor with hdmi inputs. They have a 19" one at bestbuy for under $200. Then I will need sound, so I was thinking of one of those game chairs with the speakers built in. Bestbuy has a cheap one for about $50.
I have seen the games on ebay for under $15, so I will probably go that route or the local pawn shops.
I notice that they sell the "arcade" version of the 360 with no hard drive. Can I add my own hard drive? Is it the same as a desktop HDD?
Any input from our resident gaming experts?

you would need to buy the wireless adapter made from microsoft to use your xbox on wireless router. i believe they go for $90-100? as for the arcade version...i would recommend you get the pro (20gb) or elite (120gb). using a memory card is a pia, also you wouldn't be able to hold that many downloadable content... i think games now may require a HDD on the xbox 360 such as GTA4. the hdd used for the 360 is NOT the same plug and play as the hdd on the computer
I think your friends are playing Call of Duty 4 not 2, just so you dont buy the wrong thing. Its a good game. I had been playing that recently but have been playing Grand Theft Auto recently.
I think you want to buy a 360 with the HDD. Its not the same as a PC HDD. Im sure someone could get it to work but... I dont know if the arcade system is upgradable with the HD but you do want the HD. Ive seen refurbed system for sale for 200 - 250 but I would suggest buying band new. You can often find a 10% off coupon to Best Buy or I think you can always get 10% off at Target for online orders.
You may find older titles in the $15 range but expect to pay near retail prices for new hot titles. I buy few games but I find ones I like and play them to death. I have some older stuff which I am happy to loan out if you pick up the 360.
My console is on the other side of the wall from my office where the router is, so I just installed a CatV drop through the wall and connect diectly to avoid more expense and wireless issues.

It is sometimes not a bad idea to look through Craigslist. If you find a good deal and seeing that your a cop... You can use that to your advantage to avoid getting a bad system sold to you by some ass clown.
Many people try selling their games along with they system and ask too much money. Just replay and ask how much for the hardware.
I know someone who bought a PS3 for $250. Works perfect. They guy needed money and someone made him an offer he eventually took after not getting his asking price.

OK, so new is probably the best idea. What do you think is a best price I can get a new one for and where?
What model do I pick since there are several?
I saw some refurbished units on ebay from a big seller who seems to sell a ton of these. Is that safe or should I not chance it?
If I buy new, how long will they repair it for under warranty?
If I buy used, how much will it cost me to send it in for repair?
Thanks
