If this were a Speed Channel car show they would show the car in it's current state then cut to break, come back and be like...

"Now we just gots to torque these value stem caps to 1.5 ft/lb's and we're DONE".

"Right on Bobby, that finishes the Healey restore"

I'd probably have to cast them from liquid rubber.

Last night I closely examined the mis-aligned door latches. I may need to adjust one of the doors on its hinges about a 1/16th of an inch, but that still will not be enough to make it line up with the catch on the door post. The latch is non adjustable. The catch has about a half inch of adjustment, but even at its exreme position, it is still about a half inch away from lining up with the latch. So I marked everything to drill new holes for the catch, but before I drilled, I looked to see if the threaded packing piece that you screw the catch into will still fit. I have to say that i looks like ti will not fit correctly. So I'm still thinking about it before I drill any holes. The fully thing about holes; they are easy to drill, but difficult to fill back in.

Just slap some JB weld in there, Bill. And who needs latches? Just use a bungee to secure the door or even better if you want to go high tech, get some hook and eyes from the hardware store.

I actually used the hook and eye method on a car I had when I was a kid. Too funny.
