Default Tire recommendation

This spring, I may be getting some new rims for summer use. What I'm looking at seems only to come in 17". The SO2's I've been using as summer tires appear not to be available in 17".

Any thoughts on a comparable tire? The guy at Town Fair suggested what looks like an all season Toyo. I'm leary of changing tires types. When I had my CrX, I went from the Potenzas to an off brand and the car never handled as well as it had with the Potenzas.

Thanks for any advice.

If you wanna stick with Potenza there is the RE-11 that should drive the same or better than your S02s.

They are pricey, though probably worth it. I've always been impressed with Bridgestone.

with both .... I also like the Falkin RT615.

This year I will be sporting Toyo R888's on the toys . not the best Treadwear , but supergrippy.

I guess it depends on what you want out of a tire

I would recommend against Bridgestone Potenza if you are planning on an all season sort of tire. They are standard issued on bmw but are horrid in the snow. I do like the Continental Contisport or even Falken ze512.

Kumho tires worked very well for me. Don't be afraid to try something other than the "traditional" tires.
