Default Tires

I was about to order from TireRack, but I wasn't sure if anyone else had recommendations for places to buy tires from. I've only ever bought tires twice, once from a Bridgestone/Firestone place, and again from Town Fair Tire.

Basically, high performance all seasons for my A4. I was looking at Yoko Avid V4S on TireRack, as they're a good price for the rating @ $93/each, but I'd consider others. Does TownFair mount & balance if I buy tires elsewhere?

No no... I'm all set for the S2k, I need new tires for my Audi A4, which is my daily driver. And is currently awful in the snow because of worn tires.
But thanks for the info... knowing how fast the S2k uses tires, it'll be helpful.

DOH!!!!!!

Got it, yup, you need good tires fot the Audi. So, do you have extra wheels for snows or do you need to buy an "all-season" tire?

BTW- Seriously consider the Hankooks when it is time to put new tires on the S!

I don't have another set of wheels for for the A4. I was saving up to put snowies on the current wheels back in December and to buy a summer set of wheels/tires come springtime... but I scrapped that plan and bought an S2000 instead.

I'm thinking given the age of the car (it's a '99.5 w/113k miles) and odd wheel size (5x112 lug pattern, 16"), I'll probably just be lame and get another set of all seasons rather than a winter & summer set.

Coincidentally, the A4 tires are the same as the S2k fronts... 205/55 16". But the application doesn't lend itself well. A 3400lb AWD sedan is only so sporty. And while I still really like it, any day that has "good driving weather" will probably see me in the S2000, not the A4. So all seasons would be ideal for the A4.
