Default Top down while moving...

Well I don't really know how many of you have already done this very very simple mod, but its extremely easy and I keep instructions on how to do it in my car.

That being said, if anyone wants this done at the Mohawk I will be more than happy to help anyone do this while we are stopped for lunch. The mod is simple and takes no more than 5 minutes, less if you can pop the cover off quicker!

Now for those who have no idea what I am talking about: The stock system from Honda requires you to be stopped and have the parking brake engaged in order for the soft top roof to go up or down. With this mod you can now use the roof while the car is moving (Please do not do this at high speed, you WILL ruin your top and motor. < 15mph will be safe however). You still need the e-brake, but with it only engaged *1-click* the car recognizes the brake being on however it is not pulled enough to really slow the car down.

Well if that is your situation, then just use the reference online. This is the exact thing I have printed out in color and I keep it in the car.

Can you give me a good explanation of how to take the dashboard panel off? I tried following the explanation in the thread, and I get no sense of the panel coming off. Is there a trick? I have relatively small hands, so I can feel the clips behind the panel. Does it help to push on them? Or, if I have the right trajectory, do I just pull? Or what? I have no problem with the wiring aspect, it's wrecking the dash that concerns me.

Pull on the clips individually with a smooth firm force, they will eventually come off. Mine were a little PITA, but they all came off eventually.

The best thing to do is just plop your ass in the passengers seat and pull directly towards you. This is the angle at which the clips are installed. DO NOT pull down towards the floor or you will break this cover as some have done.

Hope this helps a little.

Yes....I'd be very careful with that panel....I broke mine recently while installing my XM receiver.

Thankfully, the part is about $13.00.

only $13? I wouldn't mind changing my silver for a black one if that is what we are talking about.
